Some customers have experienced instability when using MacSpeech Dictate with Microsoft Word due to auto-caching of longer or more complex documents.
All editions of MacSpeech Dictate (including Legal, Medical, and International) provide a preference to allow the user to disable "Auto Cache" in Microsoft Word or TextEdit.
To adjust your preferences, choose Dictate -> Preferences... and then click Dictation. The dialog will look like the image below. Uncheck the box next to "Microsoft Word".
Note: If crashing occurs while using TextEdit, uncheck the Preferences box next to "TextEdit".
