Details:

If you are using Mac OS X 10.5.x (Leopard), please see KB Article 286: "Crashing when dictating into other applications under Mac OS X 10.5.x (Leopard).".

If you are experiencing random crashes during the use of MacSpeech Dictate in applications AND you are using OS 10.4.11, try the following:

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Open the International preferences
  3. Choose the Input Menu tab
  4. There is a section called "Input source options"
  5. Change the radio button to "Use one input source in all documents"
  6. Make sure that the box is checked for "U.S." as a Keyboard / Input type
